Capture Module
Capture Module Overview
The Capture module is located on the home screen and provides five scanning options:
- Traditional Paper Business Cards
- NFC Cards
- QR Codes
- Event Badges
- Documents
1. Business Card Scanning
- What it does: Allows you to scan business cards to capture contact information. You can either send the scanned cards to the Scanning Queue for later processing in Salesforce or handle the scan directly on your device.
- How it works: The Capture module uses your device’s native camera app, which typically results in higher-quality images compared to the Scan module. If you’re having trouble with the Scan module, try using the Capture module instead.
Note: The Scan app needs permission to access your device’s camera.
2. NFC Card Scanning
- What it does: Enables you to scan NFC cards in both URL and vCard formats.
- URL Format: Capture the URL, then either save it to your device or open it directly in your browser.
- vCard Format: Capture contact information and save it as a Salesforce Lead or Contact, or as a contact on your device.
3. QR Code Scanning
- What it does: Allows you to scan QR codes in URL and vCard formats.
- URL Format: Capture the URL, then either save it to your device or open it directly in your browser.
- vCard Format: Capture contact information and save it as a Salesforce Lead or Contact, or as a contact on your device.
4. Event Badge Scanning
- What it does: Enables you to scan event badges to quickly capture contact information and save it as a Salesforce Lead or Contact or as a contact on your device.
Note: The Event Badge option doesn’t read the badge’s QR code. To scan the QR code on an event badge, use the Events API module.
5. Document Scanning
- What it does: Allows you to scan documents and convert them into PDF format. You can then share the document or save it in Salesforce.
