Scan Module
Scan Module Overview
The Scan module is located on the home screen and offers four scanning options:
- Traditional Paper Business Cards
- NFC Digital Business Cards
- QR Codes
- Event Badges
1. Business Card Scanning
- What it does: Allows you to scan business cards to capture contact information. You can send the scanned cards to the Scanning Queue for later processing in Salesforce or process the scan directly on your device.
- OS: The app captures the photo automatically.
- Android: Tap the photo button to capture the image.
Note: The Mobile Scan app needs permission to access your device’s camera.
2. NFC Card Scanning
- What it does: Lets you scan NFC cards in both URL and vCard formats.
- URL Format: Capture the URL, then either save it to your device or open it directly in your browser.
- vCard Format: Capture contact information and save it as a Salesforce Lead or Contact, or as a contact on your device.
3. QR Code Scanning
- What it does: Allows you to scan QR codes in URL and vCard formats.
- URL Format: Capture the URL, then either save it to your device or open it directly in your browser.
- vCard Format: Capture contact information and save it as a Salesforce Lead or Contact, or as a contact on your device.
4. Event Badge Scanning
- What it does: Enables you to scan event badges to quickly capture contact information and save it as a Salesforce Lead or Contact or as a contact on your device.
Note: The Event Badge option doesn’t read the badge’s QR code. Instead, use the Events API module to scan the QR code on an event badge.
