Enable Event Page Layout Field Options


If you upgrade to the latest Vision-e Scan AppExchange package from a version earlier than 1.395, you won't find any field options in the "Available" column under the Lead(Event) and Contact(Event) tabs in the Mobile Scan Builder. As a result, you won't be able to customize the Event page layout, and the standard event layout will display all available fields in the Scan app.

To add field options to the Lead(Event) and Contact(Event) tabs, follow these steps:


1. Navigate to Setup.

2. Go to the Object Manager.

3. Use the Quick Find box to search for "mobile scan object permission".

4. Select the "Mobile Scan Object Permission" object.

5. Choose "Fields & Relationships" from the sidebar.

6. Click on the "ObjectType" field.

7. At the bottom of the page, locate the "Values" section.

8. Click "New".

9. In the text box, enter "Event_Lead" and "Event_Contact" on separate lines.

10. Click "Save".

11. Return to the Mobile Scan Builder, and you should see the field options available under the Lead(Event) and Contact(Event) tabs.

Note: The Scan app will continue to display all available fields for the Lead(Event) and Contact(Event) page layouts until fields are added in the "Selected" column.

Event Page Layouts


The Event Layout determines which fields are displayed on the event badge Optical Character Recognition (OCR) results screen in the Scan app. You can add or remove fields to the Event page layout using the Lead(Event) and Contact(Event) tabs.

Fields that can be added to the Event page layout appear in the 'Available' column, and fields currently in the Event page layout are listed in the 'Selected' column under the 'Lead(Event)' and 'Contact(Event)' tabs.
