Scanning Using the Capture Module

Scanning a Business Card using the 'Capture' Module

Using the 'Capture' module for scanning follows a process very similar to that of the 'Scan' module, with the key difference being the use of the device's native camera interface.

To scan a business card using the 'Capture' module:

1. Tap the 'Capture' module to access the 'Capture & Send' menu.

2. From the list of options, choose 'Business Cards.'

3. Use the camera to capture a picture of the business card. (Note: For optimal results, take the picture in landscape orientation, minimizing background capture).

4. After capturing the image, proceed to the review screen, where you can review and retake the photo if necessary. Tap 'Use Photo' to advance to the edit screen.

5. In the edit interface, crop the picture to display only the business card and, if needed, rotate the image to landscape orientation. Once done, tap 'Done.'

6. On the 'Continue to OCR' screen, decide whether to send the scan to the Salesforce Scanning Queue or proceed to on-device OCR. At this point, you can also include various Salesforce enhancements for the scan.

  - If sending to the Salesforce Scanning Queue, you'll receive a confirmation message, and you'll return to the home screen.

  - If using on-device OCR, you'll be directed to the OCR results page for review.

7. After reviewing the OCR results, proceed to the final screen to save the scan as a Salesforce Contact or Lead. Alternatively, save the scan as a contact on your device.

8. Once completed, tap the 'Home' icon to return to the home screen.
