Scanning Using the Scan Module

Scanning a Business Card Using the 'Scan' Module

Scanning and digitizing paper business cards with the 'Scan' module is a straightforward process that can be completed in a few steps.

To scan a business card using the 'Scan' module:

1. Tap the 'Scan' module to open the 'Scan' menu.

2. From the 'Scan' menu, choose 'Business Card' from the list of options.

3. Use the scan interface to capture the business card. (On iOS, the auto-capture feature will automatically capture and crop the business card image. For Android users, tap the photo button and crop the image as needed.)

4. Review the captured image for issues, such as blurry text or poor lighting.

5. Choose whether to send the scan to the Salesforce Scanning Queue or continue to on-device OCR. At this stage, you can also incorporate various Salesforce enhancements that will be added to the scan.

  • If sending to the Salesforce Scanning Queue, you'll receive a message confirming that the scan has been saved, and you will return to the home screen.
  • If using on-device OCR, you'll be directed to the OCR results page to review the OCR results.

6. After reviewing the OCR results, proceed to the final screen to save the scan as a Salesforce Contact or Lead. Alternatively, save the scan as a contact on your device.

7. Once completed, tap the 'Home' icon to return to the home screen.
